The first project in my Digital Illustration class was to create a postage stamp focused on a specific group of animals and text. My group chose farm animals, so therefore I chose a horse. The larger stamp helps show you what was included in the stamp, and the smaller version is what it would actually look like if it was processed as an actual postage stamp. I used Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator for this project. Enjoy!

For my third assignment in Typography, and probably one of my favorites, we were to take the first letters of our first and last name and combine them in a way where they look as if they were meant to be together. This was the design that I chose, and I’m VERY happy with how it turned out. Enjoy!

For my second assignment in typography, I was given a letter from the alphabet, and told to create 4 designs using the letter we were given. The letter that I chose was the letter “K”, and the piece below is my favorite sketch from the four that I created. Enjoy!

During my winter break, I downloaded a trial version of Adobe Illustrator and decided to do some fun stuff on my last trial day. During that time, I met up with an old friend from my old church that is now doing very well in photography, and trying to launch his own small business, Justin Erickson Photography.

That’s when I got an idea. Why not develop logos for people that I already know to get a strong base for my graphic design career? To be short, I did a small mock up of what I was thinking for my friends business.

Hopefully, in the near future I’ll be meeting up with him to come up with new ideas and possibly get my first deal as a graphic design student. If you would like to see some of my friends photography, you can check them out on his facebook page located here.

Let me know what you guys think of my design, and what I could do to better the design. As a reminder, this is a mock up (aka- the first attempt), so don’t be too brutal. Haha.
